In Vallelunga, in Italy, the car with which the Brazilian pilot will compete on the European F3 Championship season was presented

This week began officially the 2016 European F3 Championship season. On the Vallelunga track, in Italy, pilots and teams had their first contact with the cars with which will compete this year, during the first two days of official practices in this preseason.

Beginning his second year in the competition, the Brazilian pilot Sergio Sette Câmara (Red Bull / Cemig / Mercantil do Brasil) was on the Italian track and, besides the expected return to speed up a competition car, the pilot had one more commitment before entering the track. He presented his new car, overalls and helmet that, from now on, adorn the colors and the brand of the greatest energy drinks company in the world, the Red Bull.

The car layout, very similar to the one used by the Red Bull team of Formula-1, already makes it clear the connection and the level of commitment of the Red Bull Junior Team with the Belo Horizonte pilot. The technical team responsible for the car, however, will be the Motopark Team, the same team with which the Brazilian pilot competed in 2015 and conquered expressive results and podium in his first year in the European Championships. The pilot will continue having the support from Banco Mercantil do Brasil and CEMIG, which for several years accompany the pilot in his career.

WITH THE CAR ON THE TRACK, SERGINHO DID VERY WELL

After the photo session and answers to reporters, Serginho, who practiced a lot in the Red Bull simulators, in Milton Keynes (ENG) and in Motopark (GER), sat in his cockpit and, for two intense days, he had his first contact with a competition in 2016.
Without the worry of achieving the best time on the first day, the pilot and the team worked hard on the mechanical part and on the aerodynamics of the equipment seeking, above all, settings that can be used throughout the year.

This Friday, then, with the technical details closer to the ideal, the pilot went on seeking his best performance on the track. Very concentrated, Sette Câmara made 39 laps and, with the time of 1m27s765 he achieved the second best mark of the day. This time, highly praised by the team, was only 37 thousandths slower than the fastest pilot of the day.

“Honestly, I could not wait to sit in my car and speed up. Since December I had not felt this adrenaline. I’m happy, but above all very focused this season. Yesterday’s and today’s tests, at least for our team, were much more focused on technical adjustments to equipment, effectively, by the pursuit for times. We have only one more day of testing before the start of the season and, therefore, we try to make the most possible open track time to understand and prepare the car for the season”, commented the 17-year old pilot.
