The traditional racetrack will be the stage of the fourth, fifth and sixth stages of the year
After opening the 2015 season in England, the European F3 Championship arrives this weekend in the center of the European continent. In the traditional Hockenheim racetrack , in Germany, the 36 pilots will participate in the races valid for the fourth, fifth and sixth stages of classification.
In his debut season in the Championship, the Brazilian pilot Sergio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil of Brasil / Lalubema), from Belo Horizonte, is showing he can be one of the great revelations of motorsport this year. After a round of much learning in England the pilot devoted himself to physical training and in simulators in search for a better adaptation to the track which, in his opinion, is unprecedented.
Under the very mindful care of all team members of Motorpark Academy, as well as his coach Roberto Streit, the pilot assimilated many information about the track. Between telemetry analysis of past races, as well as onboard cameras and videos, the team sought to provide the pilot with all possible information about the circuit before effectively putting him on the track.
Regarded as one of the most iconic racetracks in Europe, the Hockenheim’s track was inaugurated in 1932 and has received countless times the world F-1. In the main category of motorsport the Brazil he always had good memories from there having added seven victories being three by Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna and three by Rubens Barrichello. The track is currently in its seventh different track design with 4,574 meters of extension. In the European F-3 the record belongs to the pilot Lucas Auer, with a time of 1m32s401.
“I’m looking forward to getting back to speed up. The Hockenheim track is very fast, with good overtaking points. I qant to accumulate a lot of mileage and, above all, better know my equipment and its possibilities in search of increasingly fast laps and the achievement of my first points in the year”, commented the 16-year pilot.
SETTE CÂMARA HAS ALREADY SHOWN COMPETITION RIGHT ON THE FIRST PRACTICE SESSION
On a weekend in which it will host several competitions simultaneously, the Hockenheim racetrack started the official programming on Thursday. Thus, the F3 has already made its two free practices and then the taking of times for the first race of the weekend.
Putting into practice what he developed before with Serginho’s team he showed that the equipment is well prepared for the race. After achieving the tenth time in the first practice session, he and his team made several tests in the second session, with no concern with the lap time.
In the taking of the times, held in the late afternoon, he achieved the time of 1m33s158 which secured him the 10th position for the first race of the weekend. The official program will have this Friday another taking of times, valid for races two and three, and the first race. On Saturday will be played the second race and, finally, on Sunday, the third one.
