Brazilian Sérgio Sette hopes to continue his progress in the championship

The FE World Championship lands in Asia this weekend for the 11th and 12th rounds of the competition. On the streets of Shanghai, China, the 22 drivers will face the challenges of a new circuit. For Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara, who competes for the Chinese ERT Formula E Team, it will feel like competing at home.

Sérgio arrives in Shanghai at a good moment for him and the ERT team in the Championship. Even though he did not achieve good final results in the last round in Berlin, the Brazilian driver advanced to the semi-final phase of the duels in the qualifying session and finished the first free practice session in a celebrated second place.

The Shanghai circuit is one of the major novelties of the 2024 season calendar. The event kicks off the final part of the Championship, which will only have races in Portland, USA, next month, and London, UK, in July after this weekend.

The Chinese track layout will offer the public “pack” style races similar to those in Misano and São Paulo, for example. The track is 3,050 meters long, featuring 12 corners and three full-throttle sectors. The Attack Mode activation zone is located at turn 2. Saturday’s race will have 29 laps, and Sunday’s race will have 28 laps.

“I am very excited about what we can develop this weekend here in Shanghai. Our equipment has shown significant improvement in the last few rounds, which allowed me to reach the duel phase in qualifying at some rounds. Our energy management is still an issue, but what really needs to be reviewed is this pack racing rule. It is getting dangerous… Several drivers are touching, and in the end, it completely loses the essence of the competition. I am sure that the FE organizers, as well as the FIA delegates, have the full capacity to find sporting solutions to end this kind of problem, which, frankly, makes the spectacle poorer for the audience,” commented the Brazilian sponsored by MRV and BET7K.
