In Barcelona, the Brazilian driver will race in the third round of the F2 World Championship
This weekend, between May 11 and 13, the Barcelona Autodrome in Spain will host the third round of the F2 World Championship. Third in the standings, Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | Banco BMG | MRV | CCR | CEMIG | GASMIG | Usiminas) comes to this stage in search of a recovery after being penalized in the last event in Azerbaijan two weeks ago.
Resident of the city of Saint Cougat since he was 15, in the outskirts of Barcelona, Sette Câmara says that, in the absence of Interlagos, the Spanish race is his home race. He, who in previous years had already had the opportunity to compete and train in the Catalunya circuit, considers the track as one of the most complete in the Championship as it mixes fast sections with high, medium and low speeds. The track, which has an extension of 4,655 meters, will consist of 37 laps on Saturday and 26 on Sunday.
Sérgio’s season began in an extremely positive way. Of the four races so far he managed to finish three of them on the podium and the other in fourth place. Constant, bold and very fast the driver is already considered as one of the strong names of the Championship and has been pointed out by the specialized press as the year’s most difficult pilot to be overtaken.
“I really feel at home racing here in Barcelona. I live about 20 minutes from the racetrack and the chance to sleep every night in my bed will be very good. Our car has proved to be fast and reliable, and we are confident we find out our limit. Here in Barcelona, even with the DRS, overtaking will probably be more difficult than in Bahrain and in Baku. Thus, the qualifiers will be very important in defining the paths to take in the race. For this reason, the pit stops and strategies will certainly define the results of the races, “he said.
