Fourth in the Championship, the Brazilian driver wants to reduce his gap against the leader
This weekend, the F2 World Championship comes to Eastern Europe. In the city of Budapest, Hungary, drivers and teams from the F1 feeder category will rac for the eighth round of the year at the traditional Hungaroring track.
Currently in the fourth position of the Championship, the Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | BMG | MRV | CCR | CBMM | CEMIG | GASMIG | COPASA) lives a defining moment in his expectations for the end of the season. Despite being 49 points behind the leader, Sette is 18 points from the vice-leadership and only one point from the third position.
Coming from a good streak in the last rounds of the year, where he had pole position, a podium in France and a victory in Austria, the Brazilian driver has fond memories of the Hungarian track. Last year, while defending the colors of another team, Serginho got his first F2 pole position on this track and took home a third place trophy.
Belonging to the list of the most traditional F1 tracks, Hungaroring Race Track has been hosting the World Championship for many years. This track has witnessed epic disputes among Nelson Piquet, Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda and Nigel Mansell which have marked its asphalt forever. Its layout, although narrow, is 4,381 meters long. In all the circuit there are 14 turns and the drivers spend 49% of the lap in full acceleration. The top speed of the F2 is 295 km / h and on each lap the drivers change gears 34 times.
The French team DAMS has an excellent record in this circuit. In 2017 and 2018 the team led by François Sicard won races with Oliver Rowland and Alexander Albon respectively.
