The streets of the ancient city of Rome, Italy, will be the stage for the 13th and 14th rounds
The Formula E World Championship season is coming to an end, and this weekend the drivers of the planet’s main electric car competition will land in Rome, the capital of Italy, for the double-header races that will mark the 13th and 14th rounds of the competition.
Representing the NIO333 Racing team, Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara arrived excited in the Italian metropolis, considering the good progress he and his team of engineers found in the simulator tests conducted in recent weeks.
The Cittadino dell-EUR circuit is one of the longest of the Formula-E season, with 3,385 meters and 19 turns. The track has hosted the Championship since Season 4 (2017/2018) and its main characteristics are the elevation changes and several 90-degree turns. The fastest section of the track is between turns 4 and 6, allowing for full throttle usage. Another important factor is the high-energy regeneration rate due to the strong braking for the 90-degree turns. The Attack Mode will be located at turn 15.
“The Rome track is undoubtedly one of my favorites on the calendar. The layout is long, with several turns of different radio, and it brings to the audience the essence of Formula E on a street circuit within a great metropolis. Apart from that, the city is spectacular; it has all the history, wonderful food, and, most importantly, a passionate audience for motorsports. Qualifying will be very important here because to overtake, it is necessary to consume a lot of energy, which can be detrimental to the final laps of the races. We will work to have the best possible car in qualifying, and based on that, we will proceed with defining the strategies,” explained the driver from Belo Horizonte.
In Brazil, the Saturday race will be broadcasted on Band (free-to-air), and on Sunday, the races will take place on BandSports. The Grand Prix channel on YouTube will broadcast all the activities.
