Valencia Circuit welcomes teams and drivers to final development of Gen3 cars
From this Monday (13) until next Friday (16) the drivers and teams of the Formula-E World Championship will be in the spotlight of world motorsport. In the end of 2022 the Ricardo Tormo Racetrack, in Valencia – Spain, once again receives the pre-season of the main category of electric cars on the planet.
Coming to a new home, after three seasons in the previous team, the Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara and the NIO333 Racing team landed on the Spanish track on Monday morning and, on Tuesday, started training for development and adjustments of the brand-new Generation 3 (Gen3) car of the Chinese team.
The schedule of the days will be quite intense, today happening two free practices of three hours each. This Wednesday, as determined by the organization of the World Championship, the schedule will be like a copy of the schedule of a race day. Thus, the cars will go to the track for two free practice sessions, a qualifying session and a race simulation. On Thursday the schedule will be completely off-track getting the drivers at the disposal of the organization for media activities and content generation. Finally, on Friday, the cars return to the track for the final adjustments before the start of the season scheduled for January 14 in Mexico City.
“We are at a very important moment in the preparation of the equipment for the season. We have in hand a completely new car, new engine, new software, new batteries and, to complete, new tires. There are many factors to develop and generate data so that the team can analyze and, obviously, seek to develop over the days. Today’s sessions were fruitful and, tomorrow, it will be cool to do a general simulation of one day in the Championship,” explained the driver from Belo Horizonte.
