Alongside the Nielsen Motorsport team, the Brazilian claimed victory in the ProAM class during Round 2 of the ELMS
Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara enjoyed a memorable weekend during the second round of the 2025 European Le Mans Series (ELMS), held at the legendary Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet, France. Driving the #27 car for Nielsen Racing alongside the British teammate Anthony Wells and the Australian James Allen, the trio secured their first victory in the ProAM category and also achieved an impressive second place overall in the four-hour race.
The weekend program began on Friday (May 2) with free practice sessions. On Saturday, the trio qualified seventh in the ProAM class, but that didn’t stop them from delivering an outstanding performance in Sunday’s main race, held under extremely challenging weather conditions.
The race began under heavy rain, and the track remained wet throughout the entire event, requiring critical strategic decisions—especially regarding tyre choice. Within the first hour, the team had already moved up to third place and remained among the frontrunners for the duration of the race. After four intense hours marked by fierce battles and numerous position changes, car #27 crossed the finish line as the ProAM class winner and secured a remarkable second-place finish overall.
“An excellent weekend here in France. This was only my second race in the ELMS, competing in a Ligier LMP2— a car I had no experience with until the start of the season— and already my teammates and I achieved our first win. Not to mention, endurance racing, with long-distance events, is also a new challenge for me. It was a very tough race that began with heavy rain and remained wet throughout, with varying intensities of rainfall. The challenge required perfect strategy in tire selection, and our team showed great experience in choosing the right compounds at the right times and making key decisions that kept us fighting for the win. I want to thank everyone who followed us, cheered, sent messages, and of course, Cactus IGaming, my personal sponsor who is investing heavily in Brazilian motorsport,” said Sette Câmara after the race.
With this result, the team led by the Brazilian now tops the championship standings with 31 points, followed closely by TDS Racing with 30 points and AF Corse with 29.
Sette Câmara and his teammates are now firmly positioned as strong contenders for the ProAM title this season. The next round of the championship will take place at the iconic Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola, Italy, on July 6.
