At the invitation of Mitsubishi Brazil, the Formula E World Championship driver will face the challenges of off-road racing in the Mit Cup
This Saturday, July 27, the Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara (Bet7K / MRV) will experience a completely new challenge in his career. In the quiet town of Ibirá, in the interior of São Paulo, the young driver from Belo Horizonte will compete in the fourth stage of the Mitsubishi Cup.
Sette Câmara built his career on kart tracks and race circuits around the world. After a successful trajectory in national and international karting, he competed in European F3 (2015 and 2016) and F2 (2017 – 2019). In 2016, he was a member of the Red Bull Racing young talent program, and in 2019, he participated in McLaren’s F1 development program. In 2020, he returned under the Red Bull umbrella, serving as a reserve driver for Red Bull and Alpha Tauri teams. Since then, he has competed professionally in the Formula E World Championship. Currently, in his fifth season, he races for the Anglo-Chinese ERT Formula E team and is one of the most respected drivers on the grid.
The Mitsubishi Cup is the most traditional single-make cross-country rally in Latin America. In its 25th season, the competition, supervised by the Brazilian Automobile Confederation (CBA), has revealed many great talents who have gone on to compete in events like the Dakar Rally and Rally dos Sertões.
Sette Câmara will compete with the technical support of Spinelli Racing. Led by five-time Rally dos Sertões champion Guiga Spinelli, the team will provide Sérgio with one of their Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross R models. This car, specially manufactured for competition at the Catalão factory in Goiás, incorporates all of Mitsubishi Motors’ expertise in producing racecars. With all-wheel drive, the car combines excellent drivability with a high-performance engine. Equipped with a six-speed sequential gearbox, the model is one of the fastest in the competition.
The official weekend program begins on Friday (26th) with a free practice session. This session, held on a closed track different from the one used in the race, will give Serginho his first contact with the car. On Saturday, the cars will compete on an unknown circuit approximately 40 km long. The support park will be at the Termas de Ibirá, which will host a celebration for the competitors at the end of the activities. The stage will be broadcast live on the BandSports and Mitsubishi Motors BR YouTube channels.

In my career, I have had the opportunity to drive the fastest cars in the world like F1, F Indy, Super Formula, etc. However, this will be my first opportunity to race on dirt. I’m sure it will be an unforgettable opportunity,” commented the 26-year-old driver.
