The pilot of the Red Bull young talents program will take the ideals of three-time F1 champion Ayrton Senna to the races of the European F3 Championship
Last Monday, March 21, the pilot Ayrton Senna, the greatest Brazilian auto racing Idol, would complete 56 years of age. Unfortunately more than two decades have gone since he left us, but his ideals and his legacy remain increasingly present through the activities of the Ayrton Senna Institute.
The objective of the non-profit institution founded and chaired by the pilot’s sister, Viviane Senna, is to develop the potential of children and young people from all regions of Brazil, by means of public education of good quality. Always acting in a partnership with public administrators, researchers and other organizations, the Institute is funded by partner companies, licensing of Ayrton Senna and Senninha trademarks and donations from individuals
Among the few knowing the story and all that the idol Ayrton Senna represented for the Brazilian sport, the pilot Sergio Sette Câmara (Red Bull / Cemig / Mercantil do Brasil), member of the Red Bull young talents program, on his way to the F1, will also carry the ideals of Ayrton Senna to the competitions and events in which he will participate.
From this season, the pilot will imprint, both in his car as in the clothes he will wear on the weekends’ finals of the competition, a drawing with Ayrton Senna’s face and the inscription “Ayrton Senna Always”. The tribute, in addition to reflecting a personal feeling of Serginho, is an identity that, above all, will help to spread the ideals of the Ayrton Senna Institute aiming at a better quality of education for the Brazilian population.
“Although born four years after Senna’s death, there’s no way someone who likes motorsport not trying to know about him. I read everything, watched the races, I have seen documentaries. He was really a genius of the sport. His trajectory, his professional and patriot position while an athlete, always called my attention. Senna will be an eternal Idol and having the opportunity to help in a cause so important to Brazil, gives me immense pride. It is above all an honor to have his face on my car”, commented the 17-year pilot.
The branding manager of Ayrton Senna Institute, Larissa Mrozowski, also commented the initiative. “It’s amazing to see this new generation of pilots carrying forward Ayrton Senna’s image and legacy. In addition to the tribute, attitudes like this one by the pilot Sergio Sette Câmara, help us in our mission of spreading the work of Ayrton Senna Institute in the whole world. And the energy of our three-time Formula 1 champion will certainly give that little push to make excellent races”.
The European F3 Championship season will starts in eight days. The first round of the year will be at the Paul Ricard Racetrack, in southern France, between April 1 and 3.
