A week from the World Championship, the Belo Horizonte pilot assumed two fourth places in the Kerpen round of German Championship
After the disputes of F3 Brazil on Sunday, the seventh, the Brazilian pilot Sergio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil do Brasil | CEMIG | TAESA | MBR | Tear Têxtil | Lalubema | Patrus Transportes | Milplan) embarked directly from Porto Alegre to Europe. After three days devoted to studies and physical preparation in Barcelona, the city where he currently lives, the pilot left for the city of Kerpen, in Germany, where he played the fourth round of the DKM-Deutsche Kart Meisterschaft (German Championship) between September 12 and 14.
At exactly one week from the disputes of the World Karting Championship, which will be held in Essay, in France, this week, the pilot had as his main competitors the main names in his category in search of the last preparation for the world championship.
Together with the Dutch Keuzer Racing team, which uses Zanardi chassis and IAME engines, the 16-year pilot quickly grasped the secrets of the track and thus followed in search of the best times in the practice sessions. At the time taking session, with the time of 43s449 the pilot made the eighth time which assured him the chance to start in the fourth row of the two qualifying races.
In two much disputed qualifiers, Serginho managed to do better in the fight between the BxC groups when he occupied the fourth place. In the second heat in the AxB confrontation, Sette Câmara received the checkered flag in the seventh position. Thus, with a total of 11 points, the Brazilian pilot moved to the finals.
With the good performance shown in the qualifying races the 16-year pilot moved excited to the Sunday races. Against the best competitors in his category on European soil, Serginho, who won the August round of the Championship, showed that he is definitely in the elite of the karting assuming the fourth place in the two final races.
“It was a very important weekend for us. My kart was fast all the time and, as a result, I managed to impose a good pace and do good races. I really want to perform well in this World Championship which, somehow, will signal the end of the cycle of my career in karting. I am 100% ready to Essay and we are confident to bring a trophy to Brazil”, concluded the pilot.
