The Brazilian pilot scored in two races of the fourth round of European F3 Championship.

This Sunday (22) ended the fourth round of the European F3 Championship. The races were held in the Red Bull Ring racetrack in Spielberg, Austria and they counted to the 10th, 11th and 12 stages of the Championship. In his second season in the competition,  the Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara (Red Bull | Petrobras | Cemig | Mercantil do Brasil), member of the Red Bull Junior Team, faced a weekend that started very well, but, in the course of the activities. He had to work hard in the  races.

As always,  the programming began on Friday, with two free practice sessions, and then two taking of times that defined the starting grids of the three races of the weekend. With a well-tuned car adjusted to the Austrian  track, the Brazilian pilot soon showed that he was one of the favorites to the pole position with the second-best mark of the combined result in the free practice sessions.

Excited,  Sérgio followed to the two taking of times sessions, but, unfortunately, he failed to achieve the best performance out of his car. On the first taking of times he got the 10th time, but, hampered by a penalty in the Pau’s  race, he lost five positions on the grid, which forced him to drop to the 15th place. In the second qualifying session, he kept the sixth time for race two and 11th for race three.

Unsatisfied with his development on the track, but, aware that he had a good car in his hands, the pilot from Belo Horizonte left for the races. In the first race, valid for the 10th stage, Sergio did not get a good start and, on curve one, he even had to leave the track to avert a hit among competitors in front of him  He returned to the track, but in the 18th position. Very focused, Serginho made a recovery race and won various positions finishing in the 12th position.

The second battery was held on Saturday afternoon. Starting in the third row, Sette Camara had a problem on the clutch of his car at the time of the start and, as a result, his  car did not start.

A few moments later he managed to make the car start and followed to the race, closing the platoon. Benefited by the entry of a safety-car,  the Brazilian joined the platoon and, from there, he began an impressive race. Very fast and with quite daring overtaking, the pilot gained positions one by one,  recorded the best time in all sectors of the track and hit the track record with a time of 1m22s832. Sette Camara managed to win 14 positions in the race and finished in the 8th position.

This Sunday,  the last and decisive battery was held under strong heat. After an excellent start, he won three positions on the first lap and, as well as on Saturday, lap by lap he climbed the platoon. With determination and a lot of personality he once again showed the excellent moment is experiencing and  after the 24 laps of the race, he finished in fourth place.

“It was a weekend in which I unfortunately  made little mistakes in the taking of times sessions which ended up giving me a great work on the rest of the weekend. Our car was very good, I beat the track record and, during races, I tried to always seek the first places. We’re close to victory and, I’m sure, it will be very celebrated soon “, commented the 18-year-old Brazilian pilot, who completes 18 years of age  this Monday.
