The World Kart Championship will be held week in Essay, France
All the spotlights of the world karting will be focused this weekend on the northern region of France. At 200 km from the capital, Paris, the Essay kart track will host until next Sunday, the 21st, the single round of the 2015 World Kart Championship for the KF and KF Junior categories.
In his last performance of the regular karting career, the Brazilian pilot Sérgio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil do Brasil / CEMIG / TAESA / MBR / Tear Têxtil / Lalubema / Patrus Transportes / Miplan), from class KF, prepared himself much for this competition and, with the Keijzer Racing team from Holland, he hopes to achieve the same good results of the German Cup when he won the third round and, was the fourth on the fourth one..
Based on a structure with Zanardi chassis, IAME engines and Dunlop tyres the 16 year-old Brazilian is quite prepared. In a rhythm that he has participated in competitions in almost every weekend on this second semester, Serginho has shared his time between BraziianF3 races and kart races in Europe.
The Essay Kart track is located in an agricultural region, far from the major centers. Its infrastructure is one of the most complete in Europe and can accommodate comfortably the 170 pilots who will make part of the event. Only in KF, the main category of world karting, 76 pilots will be seeking the title, and against them, Sette Câmara expects to use his 10 years’ experience racing in karting. The French circuit is fairly technical, with high speed features. The track has a total of 1220 meters long and eight wide.
The World Championship’s official schedule begins on Thursday, with free practice sessions. There will be a total of five sessions for equipment adjustments. On Friday there will be the time taking sessions and the first qualifying races. On Saturday, the qualifying sessions will proceed throughout the day. On Sunday, then, the karts enter the track for the Pre-Finals and Finals.
“We reached to the high point of the season. This will be my last race in a regular calendar of kart. I practiced hard, competed in several tracks and with different equipment and, now, we will make our best to win this title. The best pilots are here, the best teams are here. I want to win and, for that, I rely on the whole structure of my team and everything I’ve learned in 10 years of karting. It won’t be easy, but I am determined to bring this trophy to our fans”, commented the pilot.
