The traditional race at Zandvoort, in the Netherlands, ended with a Brazilian in third place
Ended on Sunday the 25th edition of the F3 Masters of Zandvoort, in the Netherlands. Competing for the German team Motopark Academy, the Brazilian driver Sergio Sette Câmara (Mercantil do Brasil / Lalubema) finished on the podium in the third place.
The weekend for Sette Câmara was quite fruitful in Holland. The pilot has begun his participation very positively, achieving the fastest time in the first free practice session. Confirming the good tuning that he got to his car he gained the pole position on a grid of the leading names of the World F3.
The qualifying race was held still on Saturday, with 12 laps. At the time of the start the Sette Câmara’s car took a while to start and, as a result, the pilot dropped to the third position. Without discouraging, the pilot followed the race by pressing the first two pilots. However, with very few overtaking points, the pilot could not overcome competitors even though he was faster in the final laps and finished the race in third position.
“I had some problem in the clutch pedal of my car and, at the start, when I tried the control, the pedal went completely without pressure. I had to start on the instinct, without feeling the car, and ended up losing a little bit of time. During the race I couldn’t reach the guys. The car is good and I am confident for tomorrow’s race,” commented the pilot.
With the result, Serginho had the right to star on the third position in the Final race. In a good start, he managed to stay in third place and moved on pursuing the two leaders. The race, which had a total of 25 laps, was very disputed, and the three leaders got distant from the rest of the platoon. Like in the Saturday’s race, overtakings were not possible since the cars were having a very close performance. Thus, Serginho once again finished third and went to the podium.
“It was a very good weekend. The car was competitive throughout the time and we got a very useful result. Unfortunately the victory didn’t come, but once again I am sure we are on the right track and, above all, the result gives me even more confidence for the final two races of the European Championship”, commented the pilot.
Next weekend, Sette Camara returns to the track to dispute the 10th round of the European Championships in Nurburgring, in Germany.
