Driver from Minas Gerais, with experience in F1 and Formula E, will compete in Brazil’s premier motorsport category
Driver from Minas Gerais Sérgio Sette Câmara, from Belo Horizonte, will compete for the first time in a Brazilian motorsport championship. In 2026, at the invitation of TAMBASA / RC Motorsport, the 27-year-old returns to his home country after building a solid international career.
Sérgio Sette began his journey in Brazilian karting, but in pursuit of his dream of becoming a professional racing driver, he moved to Spain in 2013 to launch his international career. After competing in the main karting championships in Europe, he stepped up to single-seaters in 2015, contesting the full season of the FIA European Formula 3 Championship. In 2016, he was signed by the Red Bull Junior Team and had the opportunity to take part in an official F1 test with the former Toro Rosso team.
Between 2017 and 2019, “Serginho,” as he is affectionately known, competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship, racing alongside rivals such as Charles Leclerc, Alex Albon, George Russell and Lando Norris. He claimed race victories and secured the FIA Super Licence required for Formula 1. During this period, Sette Câmara also served as a development driver for the McLaren F1 Team.
In 2020, still connected to F1, Sérgio worked as a reserve and development driver for Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri. Additionally, amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Brazilian was signed to compete in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, where he raced for five consecutive seasons through 2024. In the series, he competed across five continents against some of the world’s top drivers.
THE TRANSITION TO GT AND ENDURANCE
In 2025, at the invitation of some of the leading endurance racing teams, Sérgio had the opportunity to compete in the European Le Mans Series (ELMS), the Le Mans Series, the 24 Hours of Spa and the 8 Hours of Shanghai—driving both prototype and GT machinery. In his rookie season, he won the ELMS round at Paul Ricard (France) and reached the podium at the challenging Portimão circuit (Portugal).
STOCK CAR
Sette Câmara’s arrival in Stock Car marks the return to Brazil of a driver developed through the world’s top racing categories. He came close to joining the Stock Pro Series in 2024 when, during the Belo Horizonte street race, he had the opportunity to drive the official Safety Car. Since then, he has followed the category even more closely and will now, for the first time since beginning his car racing career, contest a full season in Brazil.
“I’m very excited to make my Stock Car debut and, naturally, to race on Brazilian circuits. Everything will be new to me, but I strongly believe in my team’s potential and their history in the category. Marcel Campos, my new team principal, was literally raised in the Stock Car paddock and will be a major reference throughout the year. The technical level of Stock drivers is extremely high, but I have great confidence in my potential and experience, and I believe I can quickly adapt to the driving style required by the new SNG-02 cars with their powerful V8 engines,” commented the driver, who will compete in the Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross model.
Sette Câmara will compete with TAMBASA Atacadista as his master sponsor, supported by an extensive portfolio of partners including: Krona, Loctite, Lorenzetti, Condor, Corfio, Cobra Automotiva, SATA, Norton, Genco, Cortag, ILUMI, Eucatex, Teroson, Technomelt, SADA, BullsBet, Mason Holding, Instituto Conecta Cactus, Speedster Capital and ViaJap.
