A month after the first round of the year, the F2 World Championship arrives this weekend on the streets of Baku, Azerbaijan, where the third and fourth stages will be held. In his third season in the category, the Brazilian racer Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | BMG | MRV | CCR | CBMM | CEMIG | GASMIG | COPASA) will be on track in the # 5 car of the DAMS team.
Sérgio arrives in Azerbaijan very confidently after two very good results in the previous stage, when he finished on the podium in both races. He is a specialist in street circuits and believes he has a chance to, once again, achieve expressive results and, naturally, fight for victories.
“I really enjoy the racetrack in Baku. It is a track, in several stretches, reminds me of the track in Macau, my favorite. I could keep a good pace in both races in the first stage and, I’m sure, the team will once again give me a fast and reliable car. Here, as the straight is very long, there is always someone overtaking. So focusing on strategy may be the key to getting back on the podium, “said the 20-year-old.
The layout of Azerbaijan is one of the most challenging of the season. Despite being a street circuit, surrounded by walls and very narrow stretches, the main straight is almost 2 km long and the F2 cars reach 320 km / h. During one lap, which is just over six thousand meters in length, the drivers change gears 42 times and remain at 59% of the time in full acceleration. The first race will have 29 laps and the second 21.
