Sérgio Sette Câmara will be part of the team
Big changes are afoot as Formula E regulars 333 Racing announce a rebirth today as the all new ERT Formula E Team. The moves comes following recent investment in to the team, a direction which also marks the conclusion of the squad’s ongoing collaboration with car maker NIO. ERT Formula E Team (Electric Racing Technologies) now begins a new chapter with high ambitions and extensive plans to expand their electrification expertise to new markets.
As one of only six Formula E manufacturers, ERT is rich in knowledge, experience, and IP, all of which the company are set to commercialise as part of this rebirth, focusing on the application of on-track technology to road products, as well as supporting the wider industry with electrification technology in their push for more sustainable transport solutions.
On track, the ERT Formula E Team will head in to Season 10 of the ABB FIA Formula E Championship looking to build on the momentum of Season 9. The 2023 season saw a significant step forward in performance, boasting ten top 10 qualifying appearances and nine point-scoring race finishes all contributing towards a solid 9th place in the highly competitive championship. The manufacturer team, which operates as a third party engineering company from its impressive headquarters at the Silverstone Race Circuit, has consistently made progress each year following their appointment to reinvigorate the previous incarnation of the programme since Season 6. A period of consolidation and consistent improvement has led the organisation to this landmark point where a new future can begin.
Expressing enthusiasm for the journey ahead, Alex Hui, Team Principal for ERT Formula E Team stated, “We are proud to unveil our new identity as the ERT Formula E Team, it is an exciting step in our journey. As the only manufacturer Formula E team that is not currently tied to an OEM, our powertrain and software development has been done independently, putting us in a unique position. Utilising what we have learnt on track, we have already identified that we have a lot to offer in terms of improving electric vehicle performance, not just in relation to powertrains but whole vehicle engineering support and solutions, something which is already proving of interest within the automotive and motorsport industries. It is a natural progression for us to move forward commercialising this knowledge with the increasing global adoption of EVs, particularly as Formula E provides such a strong platform for OEMs and as such our conversations with partners in this arena are already advanced.
