Dreambert and Bedsmith, two Pi’illo species, wake up one morning with no memory of who they are, where they are, or how they got there. They find themselves in a strange house in a strange city, feeling lost and confused. Just as panic sets in, a strange man named Wonky appears, claiming to be their father. He claims that they must have passed out while watching TV the night before, but before he can explain further, the situation worsens. A Star Sprite species creature named Starlow arrives, claiming to be their friend. He says that he had plans to chat, but Dreambert and Bedsmith have no memory of him or any plans. They reluctantly follow Starlow outside, unaware of their surroundings. They wander around the city, seemingly unrecognizable to either their surroundings or Starlow. Despite their confusion, Starlow continues to interact with them as if they have been friends for a long time. As they are introduced to their surroundings, Starlow patiently explains their supposed friendship and names, trying to calm them down. However, Dreambert and Bedsmith are still confused and unable to understand their past or their connection to Starlow. As the day progresses, Starlow becomes increasingly concerned and at first thinks they are just pretending to forget. However, as their strange behavior continues, he begins to worry that something is seriously wrong with their memories. By the end of the day, Starlow’s uncertainty deepens and he wonders if there is something else behind their forgetfulness. Dreambert and Bedsmith are returned to the house where they first woke up, and Wonky, who claims to be their father, offers them an unfamiliar bed. Too tired and confused to protest, they settle down for the night. As they fall asleep, questions about their identities, their pasts, and the cause of their sudden amnesia run through their minds. The mystery of their lost memories remains unanswered as they fall asleep peacefully, unaware of the future.
