Sérgio Sette is excited for Stages 10 and 11 at the Jakarta e-Prix
One month after the intense battles of the Monaco e-Prix, the Formula E World Championship resumes its annual calendar for the Jakarta e-Prix. The capital of Indonesia is hosting stages of the competition for the second time, with Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette Câmara being one of its standout stars.
In a season of adaptation to the new Generation 3 car of the category, as well as the Chinese team NIO 333 Racing, the young driver from Belo Horizonte has shown a positive progression in recent stages, particularly in qualifying sessions. This was the case in São Paulo, Berlin, and Monaco, and for this weekend, the expectation is that car #3 can continue to shine not only in qualifying but especially in the two scheduled races.
“NIO was competitive in Jakarta last year. This season, we have been on a good upward trajectory, and since São Paulo, we have found good qualifying performance and have been able to engage in battles on a few occasions. The track here in Indonesia is quite difficult to overtake on, so if we can position ourselves well in qualifying, we have a good prospect of staying ahead during the races and achieving a significant result. We will work hard to make this possible in both races,” analyzed the 25-year-old driver.
Located in the Ancol Beach area, the largest park in Southeast Asia, the layout of the Jakarta International Circuit was designed to offer drivers different levels of difficulty throughout the lap. With a length of 2,370 meters, the track features 18 corners that combine highly technical sections with high-speed segments. Organizers expect the grandstands to be packed, as was seen in 2022.
As is always the case with Formula E rounds, the development of the category in the country has a long-term objective and aims to leave a lasting legacy in the city. This includes giving a new look to the Ancol Beach area and positioning it as a potential innovation center as Indonesia progresses toward a complete transition to electric vehicles by 2050.
Since Jakarta is in a time zone that is 10 hours ahead of Brazil, the activity schedules will be somewhat unusual for the audience. However, the activities will be broadcast live on Band or on the Grande Prêmio channel on YouTube.
