Sérgio Sette Câmara craves for the podium to recover positions in the Championship
The modern racetrack of Paul Ricard, in France, hosts round 5 of the F2 World Championship on Sunday (23). Driving for the French team DAMS, Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | BMG | MRV | CCR | CBMM | CEMIG | GASMIG | COPASA) arrives in the city of Le Castellet willing to seek good results in the two events and, with that, increasing his chances for the international title.
Sérgio started the year with two podium finishes in the Bahrain race and returned to the podium at the Monaco Grand Prix three weeks ago when he was third in the first race of the weekend.
After the completely atypical situation of the streets of Monte Carlo, Sette and the DAMS team arrived 100% prepared for the home race. Having their headquarters in the city of Le Mans, the team attracts all the local crowd that should fill the race track on the two days of racing.
After several years away from the F1 and F2 World Championship events, the Circuit Paul Ricard hosts again the top motor racing competitions in the world. The track underwent a major restructuring and was redesigned in the new FIA security molds and received the label High Tech Test Track. It is 5,821 meters in length, has 16 curves and is used clockwise. On a full lap, the driver stays in full throttle for 65% of the time and shifts gear 40 times. The race on Saturday will run for 30 laps, and on Sunday, 21.
“I’m motivated and very well prepared to fight for the first places. We had some bad moments in Baku and Barcelona, but in Monaco, I got to score a good amount of points again. My goal is very clear for this weekend where I want to add as many points as possible. This will bring me back to the fight for the first places of the Championship and that’s how I am going to be for the rest of the season, with a renewed spirit, “said the 21-year-old.
