After three weeks away from the tracks, the European F3 Championship comes back this weekend to its annual schedule of competition. In Eastern Europe, more specifically in the Red Bull Ring, in Austria, the main championship of worldwide F3 will make its eighth double round of the season.
Competing for the awarded Motopark Academy team, from Germany, the Brazilian pilot Sérgio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil do Brasil | Lalubema), from Belo Horizonte, is already in the country where he will have the opportunity to compete, once again, in one of the tracks of the F1 World Championship. Living a period of great growth in the Championship, Sette Câmara conquered his first podium in Spa-Francorchamps, after which he scored again in Zandvoort, and for the last days, he’s been devoted to the physical training in the simulator. With the support of the team’s pilot coach, the experienced pilot Tom Dilmann, Sette Câmara has been searching for knowledge and above all, for a way of being ready to face the challenges.
Over the last week, on the outskirts of Barcelona, where he has been living since last year, the pilot had the opportunity to participate in two days of kart training which, according to him, were essential to maintain the reflexes up to date and mostly, to keep a high level of adrenaline.
The race track of Spielberg city is kept by the giant of energetic drinks – Red Bull. The track includes a pretty fast layout with a little more than 4.300 meters of extension. All around, it includes eight curves and four major straight runs where the cars should reach the maximum speed of 230 km/h. During the lap, 20 exchanges of marks should occur, the average time is 180 km/h and the pilots have full acceleration during 79% of the lap.
“I’m very excited about the rest of the season. It’s different from the beginning of the year, when everything was new to me. I’ve already been in every track left for the closure of the year and with such, the timings start to improve naturally. Without learning the layout, I already enter the track, working on the adjustment of the car, and so the team has a lot to win in terms of facilitating the search for a perfect set. I’m pretty motivated and I believe we’ll have the possibility of achieving another weekend of fruitful results” commented the 17 years-old pilot.
