Third stage of the Championship will take place at the Genk karting track

This weekend, between June 12 and 15, the European Karting Championship will be the continuation of its season with the third stage of the competition. After passing through Italy and Spain, it reached Belgium to host the races, which will take place in the traditional Genk karting track.

Sole representative of Brazil in the KF category, the most important of the world karting, the pilot from Minas Gerais, Sérgio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil do Brasil | CEMIG | TAESA | MBR | Tear Têxtil | Lalubema | Patrus Transportes | Milplan) follows his battle in pursuit of learning. While all eyes of the country will be focused on the soccer World Cup, it will make  the  green and yellow colors shining on a track on the other side of the world.

With the technical support by  the Morsicani Racing team, Sette Câmara will compete once again with Tony Kart chassis, Vortex engines and Dunlop tires. Despite mechanical problems and the slams on his kart in the first two stages, the Belo Horizonte pilot follows confident of a good result for this stage.

The Genk karting track is one of the most demanding of the world karting tracks. Its design is configured for three well projected straight sectors permeated by several different radii curves. The total length is of 1360 meters  and the width, in some stretches, is up to 13 meters (equivalent to several race tracks in Brazil). The official programming will have free practice sessions this Thursday and Friday. In Friday’s late afternoon will take place the taking time sessions. Saturday will be completely dedicated to qualifying races and, finally, on Sunday, the pre-and final races.

“After a very bad result in Zuera, the team worked hard on setting the kart as well as our engine technician sought some differentiated adjustments for this Genk event. My main goal is to run well and follow with fast times for the taking of times. A good starting position in the qualifying sessions, certainly, will give me a chance to fight for a place in the finals”, said the 16-year old pilot.

All track activities may have their times followed on real time by the live-timing system. On Sunday, in addition, the images of the race will be broadcast live on the CIKFIA website, available on www.cikfia.com address.
