In the racetrack of Nurburgring in Germany, Brazilian Sergio Sette Câmara wants new podium

After more than 40 days away from the European F3 Championship’s tracks, he resumes this weekend his calendar of competitions with the races valid for the eighth round of the Championship. In the traditional race track of Nurburgring in Germany, pilots and teams will seek the results at the 22nd, 23rd and 24 rounds.

In his second year in the international competition, the Brazilian pilot Sérgio Sette Câmara (Red Bull | Petrobras | Cemig | Mercantil do Brasil), member of the Red Bull Junior Team, is experiencing a season of good results but he did not stop having his mishaps and problems along the 21 races already disputed.

Confident in the good work and experience of the Motopark Academy team,  the 18-year old pilot  will have in Nurburgring the possibility of collecting points and aspiring to the escalation in the championship standings in which he occupies today the 12th position with 89 points.

The Nurburgring race track is without doubt one of the most traditional of Europe. Inaugurated in 1920, the  original Nordschleife track was almost 25 km long and its straights and corners hold several pages of history in  world motorsport. The design of Grand Prix, used in current competitions, is 3,629 meters long. The F3 races usually last 35 minutes. In a full lap, the pilots spend more than 60% of the time with full acceleration and change gear  28 times.

“The year of 2016 has been a challenge for me. We started the season with an expectation and we had good results, but some problems impeded us from fighting later on the leaderboard. There are now 9 races to the end of the Championship and I will do my utmost to accumulate the most points possible. In the first two races here at the Nurburgring I will lose 10 positions on the starting grid due to the replacing of the engine, which had to be  changed after the crash at Spa. As a result, my goal is to perfect a lot in the taking of times and, with it, fight at least in the last race for a place on the podium. As per the famous motto of Motorsport, races only end at the checkered flag. I will fight for three good results here”, said the Red Bull | Petrobras | Cemig | Mercantil do Brasil pilot.

The three races of the weekend will be broadcasted live by the official website of the competition, as well as the live-timing system available at www.fiaf3europe.com
