Sérgio Sette Câmara will seek recovery after a round of bad results in the Netherlands
After passing through France, Hungary, Austria, Germany and the Netherlands the European F3 Championship arrives this weekend to Belgium for the seventh round of the season, with races valid for the 19th, 20th and 21st stages of the continental competition. The venue chosen was the currently most extensive track and one of the most traditional in the world – the Racetrack of Spa-Francorchamps.
Coming from a round in which, despite having shown extreme speed in the practice sessions, it was full of problems and the Brazilian Sérgio Sette Câmara (Red Bull | Petrobrás | Cemig | Mercantil do Brasil), member of the Red Bull Junior Team arrives with his spirit renewed for this round in which he will have, as his main goal, accumulating the most points possible to recover himself in the Championship standings.
In order to achieve this goal, the pilot from Belo Horizonte will not have an easy task. The Spa-Francorchamps track is incredibly 7 km long and, in a full lap, the pilot goes through 13 curves, 28 gear switches and the longest stretch in full acceleration is 1,875 meters long. The track record for the F3 belongs to the Dutchman Max Verstappen with the time of 2m11s111, established in 2014
Due to the programming of track for the weekend, which includes the participation of other categories, exceptionally in this round the programming was all anticipated in one day. In this way, the free practice sessions and the taking of times will be held on Thursday, races one and two on Friday and, finally, the third race on Saturday.
“My participation this weekend will be essential for the continuation of the Chamnpionship. When we leave Belgium, only three rounds will remain to the end of the season and, adding up the most points here, will be essential. I like this track. It is very fast, with great G force in curves like the Eau Rouge, which we make at more than 200 km/h, In addition, it has an ascent, descent and some good overtaking points. Our team has prepared the car carefully for the weekend and I hope to change into numbers everything we have develop for this race”, commented the 18-year-old pilot.
The three races of the weekend will be broadcasted live by the official website of the competition, as well as the live-timing system available at www.fiaf3europe.com
