Brazilian driver Sérgio Sette lives a moment of recovery in the standings
After going through France and Austria in the last two weeks, the F2 World Championship will arrive at the traditional Silverstone Speedway in England this weekend. On this track, which acclaimed the idol Ayrton Senna in the 1980s, Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | Banco BMG | MRV | CCR | GASMIG | Usiminas) will face the challenges of the 13th and 14th stages of the Championship.
Coming from a good retrospective after the accident in Monaco, Sette managed to score important points in Paul Ricard and Red Bull Ring. He went to the podium on both occasions and, in addition, he climbed one position in the standings. After 12 stages of the Championship Sérgio occupies the fifth place with 86 points against 89 of Alexander Albon, the fourth and 94 points of Artem Markelov, the third.
The driver from Belo Horizonte has already competed in this circuit on three occasions. Twice in the European F3 and one, last year, already in the F2. The British circuit is quite traditional and features high-speed stretches. Its track is 5,891 meters and Saturday’s race will have 29 laps against 21, on Sunday’s race.
“I have a deep feeling for the Silverstone track. I’ve already competed here in the F3 and the F2, and my only F1 training was here two years ago. The track is quite fast and demands a lot of downforce from the car, in addition to extreme power. We have several high-speed curves and, with that, we have to be careful, once again, with the tyre wear. I believe we are going through a good moment in the Championship and my expectation is to continue doing well and, as a consequence, score important points for the Championship, “explained the driver.
