The Brazilian racer completed almost 1,000 kilometers in three days of practice in Spain
The first round of testing for the F2 World Championship Preseason ended on Thursday afternoon, February 28. In the fast and selective track of Jerez de la Frontera, Spain, Sérgio Sette Câmara (YOUSE | BMG | MRV | CCR | CBMM | CEMIG | GASMIG | COPASA) completed the beginning of his work with the # 5 car of the French team DAMS.
After an intense preparation in the team’s simulator, which began in January, Sette arrived in southern Spain willing to comply with the extensive and detailed schedule prepared by his new engineers.,
With his well-known humility to hear the guidelines and great discipline in the execution, he performed six sessions of training that were divided in three days with activities in the morning and the afternoon. Altogether, Sérgio completed 217 laps adding up to a total of 960 km. In his agenda there was a huge variety of adjustments, fast laps, racing simulations, different tyre compounds and so on.
Tired, but with a feeling of accomplishment, the driver commented: “I’m happy with the work we have developed here in Jerez. This was just the opening of my third year in the category. I have tried to help the engineers and test the adjustments that may be useful to us all year round. I learned a lot about the car’s reactions and we are very confident in our potential for carrying on with testing next week, “said the 20-year-old.
The preseason of the F2 World Championship continues during the Carnival celebrations. On Tuesday (5), Wednesday (6) and Thursday (7) the cars will heat up the rubbery circuit of Barcelona, also in Spain, which is hosting this week the last days of tests for the F1.
