The Brazilian pilot inserts his name in the history and will start on the front on the 25th edition of the race
This weekend, September 18 and 19, the Zandvoort Circuit Park, in the Netherlands, welcomes for the 25th time one the major extra championship competitions in the world motorsport, the F3 Masters of Zandvoort. In his first participation in the race, the Brazilian pilot Sérgio Sette Câmara (Banco Mercantil do Brasil / Lalubema Motopark Academy), with only 17 years of age, reached the pole position and will start on the front position in a platoon full of experienced pilots.
Participating in the regular season of the European F3 Championship, Sette Câmara is one of the pilots has shown the greatest growth throughout the season. Very committed to his career and extremely dedicated, the pilot has already achieved two podiums in 2015, on the tracks of Spa-Francorchamps and Red Bull Ring and, on a constant manner, has ranked among the fastest on the grid which brings together more than 30 pilots from five continents of the planet
Invited by the Organization of the F3 Masters, Sette Câmara and Motopark Academy team joined forces and followed for Northern Europe willing to seek the best results in this competition that has completely different programming from the European races. Two free practice sessions are held on Friday, a taking of times and a qualifying race with 12 laps on Saturday and, finally, the final race on Sunday, with a duration of one hour.
Serginho has already started its participation in the event with special highlight. The pilot led the first free practice session and, in the second, the third fastest time. Even so, in the general sum, he was the fastest of the day with the time of 1m32s291.
This Saturday the cars went straight to the track for the taking of times. Confident and very concentrated, Sette Câmara showed that he is really experiencing an excellent moment in Holland. Using all the structure offered by his team and the telemetry data he went to the track aware of what he should perform. In a perfect lap, Serginho established the time of 1m31s281, one second faster than his time on Friday and, thus, he assured the pole position.
“I am really very happy with this pole. Starting on the front in any race is very important. However, there is nothing gained. There are very strong and experienced competitors starting right behind me today’s race is simply useful for the formation of the final grid. I’m very focused and I want to remain on the weekend in the first place”, commented the very concentrated pilot.
